Dev Crasta is a postdoctoral fellow in Clinical Psychology who has his Ph.D. from the University of Rochester.

Research

Dev Crasta's research aims to extend the insights of relationship psychology to underserved
families (e.g., Veterans, low-income). His translational approach has two major components:
  • Basic research into community level variables that impact treatment effectiveness.
  • Applied research developing tools intended to work across contexts.
Both of the above research strands are supported by methodology work exploring new ways to assess treatment processes and mechanisms.

CURRENT STATUS:
  • Conducting research on relationships as a risk factors in U.S. Military Veterans as part of the Department of Veterans Affairs Center of Excellence for Suicide Prevention.

Teaching


Dev Crasta teaches undergraduate courses on various topics in the fields of psychology, statistics, and writing.

He also provides trainings to graduate students in the areas of pedagogy and statistics.



CURRENT STATUS:
  • On hiatus from teaching.
  • Still actively continuing educational research collaborations.

Dev has developed clinical specialties in:
  • Serious and Persistent Mental Illness and Inpatient Populations
  • Veterans
  • Couple and Family Therapy

CURRENT STATUS:
  • Dr. Crasta is completing his postdoctoral fellowship at the Canandaigua VAMC.
